In a world, where most girls have no direction and no real reason for being “good” – LDS girls actually DO! LDS girls who know who they are – make better choices. So, I suppose you could apply the saying that “knowledge is power”? But even more important than a general statement like that LDS girls operate, and therefore make choices – that are anchored in eternal truths. Do LDS girls make mistakes? You bet they do! But after they hit themselves upside the head a bit for doing so – they will most always learn from those mistakes. How can a girl know what is right, if no one ever offers her truth – by which to compare and analyze her choices, actions and the results that are caused by her use of agency?

Religious views on masturbation On many occasions church leaders have taught that members should not masturbate as part of obedience to the law of chastity. Kimball, who later served as church president, warned of the “possible damages” and “dangers” of this “common indescretion” on various occasions calling it a “reprehensible sin” that grows “with every exercise”.
He gave vigorous exercise as a method to help control thoughts and break the habit of masturbation since it is a “transgression” that is “not pleasing to the Lord”.

Elijah Abel outlived Brigham Young and the validity of his ordination was repeatedly discussed by the brethren see All Abraham’s Children , p. The rationalization for restricting blacks developed over a period of years. Scholar Armand Mauss observed: Also, during the generation after Brigham Young, three other important internal developments occurred that seemed to point to a divinely condoned racial restriction.
The first development was the formal canonization of the Pearl of Great Price,. The second development, partly related to the first, was a fuller unfolding of the doctrine relating to premortal existence,. The third development was the gradual adaptation,. By the early twentieth century, these new doctrinal developments were available to provide confirmation, retroactive though it might have been, for the accumulated precedents that had denied black church members access to priesthood and temple rites after With the installment of Heber J.
Grant as church president in , no Mormon leader was still living who could remember when teachings and policies toward blacks had been otherwise. It means to be morally clean in “thoughts, words, and actions. The church teaches its members that “no one, male or female, is to have sexual relations before marriage. After marriage, sexual relations are permitted only with our spouse. A church handbook for leaders states that married couples should be made aware “that sexual relations within marriage are divinely approved not only for the purpose of procreation, but also as a way of expressing love and strengthening emotional and spiritual bonds between husband and wife.
Any other sexual relations, including those between persons of the same gender, are sinful and undermine the divinely created institution of the family. The church accordingly affirms defining marriage as the legal and lawful union between a man and a woman. Do not do anything else that arouses sexual feelings. Do not arouse those emotions in your own body.
Commitment to live the law of chastity is required for baptism , and adherence is required to receive a temple recommend. Church leaders have similarly emphasized its importance. Kimball , in his book Miracle of Forgiveness , quoted Heber J. Grant as saying, “[t]here is no true Latter-day Saint who would not rather bury a son or daughter than to have him or her lose his or her chastity—realizing that chastity is of more value than anything else in all the world.

This may sound familiar: You met a guy online, or with your friends, and there was great chemistry. You started texting back and forth, talking a lot, then went on a few dates. A week goes by. No phone calls, texts or FB messages.
Because dating is a preparation for marriage, ‘date only those who have high standards.’ “Be careful to go to places where there is a good environment, where you won’t be faced with temptation.
But when I was dating, it was important to me that I find a girl who would be a good mother for my future children. I suppose you can never really tell for sure before a person has their own children what kind of parent they’ll be, but there are some pretty good indicators – I won’t list them here, unless you want to go further into that, I’m just saying you might want to place that factor higher up in what you look for in a spouse.
What kind of parent would they be? Being a dad has been a whole new experience for me. I’ve discovered good and bad aspects of my character I never could have anticipated before having kids of my own. It’s not easy, and it’s not always fun, but sorry, I know this is SOOO cliche it’s so incredibly rewarding. See my daddy blog for some of my adventures in parenting. I’m not saying I was one of those hard guys that was never big on kids but somehow ended up with some and that they softened him – actually, I was a weird nerdy kid who loved babysitting, playing with little kids instead of friends, and tried numerous times throughout the early years of my career to get a job working at a day care.

Narcissism, androgyny, obsession with pop culture—the problems with Western women go on and on. Is there some place, a secluded land untouched by time, where women still make good wives? Mormons are one of the few remaining groups with healthy women. Because Mormons retain old-fashioned values, Mormon girls are raised in a traditional environment by good fathers.
They value femininity, motherhood, and masculinity in men. This makes them overwhelmingly successful wives and mothers. Lok for certain things: Spend some time with a few and you will know what to look for. Cold approaches on Mormon girls are challenging.
